Despite The Blues long run of excellent form the recent well reported lack of goal threat was addressed by Town boss Thomas Baillie as he made three significant changes to promote a more potent threat in the final third of the pitch. Ross Oulton came in as skipper, Cody Fisher came in at left back to release Kynan Isaac into a more advance role and new loan signing Dan Creaney made his debut in attack. That meant club captain Jimmy Fry, Striker Wilson Carvalho & utility player Lewis Wilson were all relegated to the bench after playing in nearly all of our games this season and along with the returned Mo Sebbeh and live wire winger Kian Williams Town had one of the strongest looking Stratford benches in memory.
The changes paid immediate dividends when a surging run and precise early cross from Kynan Isaac presented Dan Creaney with a gilt edged opportunity to cooly tap home a debut goal from close range on 18 minutes.
In an entertaining encounter with both sets of supporters creating a lively but friendly atmosphere as both sides continued to play attacking football. The nearest to second goal came on the stroke of half time when the ever determined Cox got to the byline to cross to Creaney who's shot on the turn hit the side netting and Stratford went into the interval leading 1-0.
The second half saw injuries for Cody Fisher and Ross Oulton which forced both to be helped off the pitch and be replaced Kian Willaims and Mo Sebbeh. The Yeltz pulled level on 64 minutes when Mendez-Jones headed home a Kelly cross and it was 1-1. Stratford struck back 13 minutes later when the impressive Creaney turned smartly to chip a perfectly judged cross straight onto Chris Cox's head to convert for what turned out to be the winner on 77 minutes.
Halesowen showed great spirit but could not penetrate the defensive wall presented by Jordan Williams and Jamie McAteer and the Blues went on to deservedly claim the victory.
