Matchday! we visit Tamworth today KO 3pm

By Andy Chilton

The Blues take a strong squad to face The Lambs looking to bounce back into the play off places - For LIVE Match updates follow the Town Twitter feed

We visit Tamworth today just one month after our tremendous 2-1 victory over the Lambs it was especially pleasing as we played with 10 men for nearly an hour at the Arden Garages Stadium.

The Blues currently sit in 9th place in the league but that is just 5 points behind 3rd placed Needham Market and with 4 games in hand on the Market men who we host in a week’s time. A win at the Lamb would likely catapult Town right back into the play off places as we enter the second half of the season.

The Lambs sit in a lowly 15th position having recorded only one win in their last 7 league games and struggling with home form having won only twice in 12 league games at the Lamb. They now include ex Blues favourite Mikey Taylor who moved there after our home win having received a financial offer too good to decline which persuaded the striker to leave the Blues but “The Beast” will always have a special place Townites hearts and it will be a tad strange for all parties seeing him line up against the Stratford Blue shirt.

Stratford take a strong squad to Tamworth with the only absentee being the injured Chris Cox however the Blues are boosted by Albi Skendi returning from his trip to the US and now have Dan Summerfield now back home in a Blue shirt and new signings Mo Sebbeh and Curvin Ellis strengthening the squad following impressive debuts in the quarter final League cup win over Kettering on Tuesday.

Thomas Baillie said on the eve of the game
“We are visiting Tamworth with a full strength side available apart from Chris Cox. Tamworth are a talented group of players in a false league position so we will need to ensure we are ready for a tough 90 minutes”.

Safe journey to all travelling Townites if you can’t make the trip you can catch team news and LIVE match updates on our twitter feed just follow @stratfordTownFC or for non Twitter users view our Twitter feed at the bottom of the homepage of our website.
