Jimmy, Will & Mikey bid a fond farewell to Stratford

By Andy Chilton

The club would like to thank the trio for their sterling service with 425 combined appearances for Stratford, they will always be warmly remembered

Jimmy Fry, Will Grocott & Mike Taylor have all confirmed that they are moving on to pastures new.

The board and everybody connected with our club would like to thank the trio for their sterling service with 425 combined appearances for Stratford and as firm favourites of the Town faithful they will always be fondly remembered at the Arden Garages Stadium.

Jimmy commented
"I have decided to make the move to Tamworth. I have loved every minute of my time at Stratford, through all of the highs and lows. Firstly I would like to say a massive thank you to the board+directors who have transformed the club from this time last season, and without that we wouldn’t have been able to enjoy the success of last season. Helping get this club into the play offs in this division as well as winning the league cup will be something I will always be very proud of. I believe the club is in very good hands with the appointment of Tommy Wright and I’m sure the football club on and off the pitch will continue to progress.

Finally I would like to thank everyone else at the club, from the fans to the staff, there are too many to run through individually, who have supported me personally, the team as a whole and my family from the minute I came to the club. The football club will always mean a lot to me."

Will commented
"I really enjoyed my 3 years at Stratford, met some great people and have some top memories. I wish the club all the best for the future and look forward to returning this season with my new club Stourbridge."

Mikey commented
"I Had an amazing 3 years at Stratford. Thank you to the supporters for all the love and support over the years. Stratford became my home and gave me back the love for football which I'd lost before I came to the club. I was happy I was able to help create history for the club last season and we made so many memorable moments. Unfortunately we couldn't get over the final hurdle but we tried our best and I'm so proud of that. Thanks again to all the Stratford fans, team mates and the board for everything! I wish you all the best."
