Town's only goalscorer, Tommy Warmer, in a dour encounter at the DCS. Now Town now look ahead to Westfields.

After today’s dour encounter at the DCS Stadium, Rod Brown confirmed that he had served 7 days notice of approach on Nicky Pugh an experienced midfield player from Tipton Town. If Nicky joins Town, he will be the 43rd player used by Rod this season so far.

There wasn’t much to shout about today, particularly in the first half, when only one shot was recorded for Town and that was from the centre half! But Rod will have been pleased to have achieved the first ‘shut out’ for four months - Rocester away on 10th October was the last time that Town didn’t concede a goal.

Tommy Warmer’s goal from a free kick, earned him the Marston’s Man of the Match but ‘possibly’ the more appropriate recipient would have been Barry Woolley on his first game back since 6th October.

Full match report

Without any midweek fixtures for the next two weeks, The Gaffer will be able to focus on the next two Saturdays starting with Westfields this Saturday, traditionally a tough place to go and get three points. Westfields have only lost one of their last 6 games at allpay Park.

The Aspire MFA league table shows Town in third place but Tipton well placed in fourth. However Tipton have a tough month ahead, made only slightly easier by the fact that this Saturdays game against Barwell has been postponed, as Barwell have to replay their 5th Rd Vase game. Tipton travel to Alvechurch on Tuesday then host Westfields 17th, Causeway 20th and Coaville on 24th before travelling to Oadby on 27th.
