Not much to shout about in Saturday's friendly
'The only good thing that came out of today, was that we got a blow-out', said The Gaffer.

Rod shares a joke with his backroom staff before the game but the smiles didn't last long.
With the DCS Stadium pitch unsurprisingly still under water as 4 inches of snow melted in 24
hours, most Town supporters were looking forward to their first taste of football for a fortnight and were hoping to see something that might warm their cockles but what was served up was a disappointing game and a performance as dull as the weather.
In front of a crowd of around 60 the game started in a lively fashion but on a dreary day, Town never reached anything above an average performance and the cold wind and rain did nothing to improve anyone’s spirits.
The game finished 4-2 to Bromsgrove, Matt Gardner and Mark Smith Town goalscorers.
But ………it was game when most other teams wouldn’t have even been able to train; it’s wasn’t a league game so no points were dropped; it was an opportunity to try out formations and ideas against good opposition and there were no injuries.

The only good thing that came out of today was that we got a blow-out, said The gaffer.
He continued, 'It was disappointing for me that some of the players appeared to take today’s friendly as little more than a training session and not as a warm up to Tuesdays game as I’d hoped. Perhaps it was good to get a kick up the backside before our next league game!
He went on, 'We gave away four poor goals but the two in the first half I could live with, as I’d asked the players to go out there and retain the ball as much as possible and to get on the ball as much as possible and to over play – that was deliberate, as I wanted to us to really use the game to get in some good match practice with ball. The mistakes we made for the goals in the first two goals were caused by us over-playing.
But in the second half it was clear for all to see that we were found wanting as we introduced 7 changes but again we’ll learn for that.
Rod concluded, ‘It’s made me realise that mentality we’re not a strong as we need to be and that’s the lesson I’ll take out of today’s game and I now know what’s need for Tuesday night.’
