The Gaffer appeals for volunteers.

With around 5 inches of snow still lying on the 3G pitch, The Gaffer is appealing for volunteers to help clear the snow for a training session on Saturday.

Head Groundsman John Levi said, ‘The snow is too deep to be able to push to the side of the pitch and it will need to be removed from the 3G altogether to be any good’.

Rod Brown told the website, ‘I’m desperate to train on Saturday as I don’t want the lads to lose The Gaffertheir edge. It’s really important that we do everything we can to keep up our fitness, as the first few games after the freeze could be crucial at the end of the season’.

He continued, ‘I hope that we can get an army of volunteers down to the club on Saturday morning to help clear the some of the snow so that we can train properly’.

‘Bring your own tools and we’ll provide the tea and coffee,’ said Town Chairman Craig Hughes.

Town will train from midday on Saturday and volunteers are asked to report to the DCS Stadium from 9.00am with their own shovels and wheelbarrows.
